JT is first Teen Choice Decade awardee
The teens have spoken and their voices were heard. Their choices were announced last July 31 at the Teen Choice 2016 Awards held at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Seen on the Fox TV Network, this year’s Teen Choice Awards was emceed by Victoria Justice of Eye Candy and
Victorious together with John Cena of WWE Smackdown.
The Teen Choice Awards was founded in 1999 and has since then become an annual event that fans and idols look forward to. As far as awards go, it is considered “older” than Nickelodeon but younger than “MTV” as far as the winners and its image go.
Last Sunday, or Monday evening out here, was another fun-filled, meaningful evening where teens picked out those who they think are the best in the field of music, film, television, fashion, comedy and even in the digital kingdom of the Internet. Votes were cast in various social media sites by fans who are strictly aged 13 to 19 years old.
Flo-Rida, Bebe Rexha, Charlie Puth, Ne-Yo, Jason Derulo and Seraya performed. A lovely Jessica Alba called attention to the effect of gun violence on teens and the dapper Kobe Bryant joined the proceedings to hand Justin Timberlake the special custom made surfboard trophy as the first Teen Choice Decade awardee. In case you don’t know, JT has the most number of surfboards, 19 in all, from Teen Choice that he collected or I should say that he was awarded with these past 17 years. Teen Choice gives away surfboard trophies as a symbol of the freedom teens enjoy during the summer months.
As for Timberlake, he was honored for his many accomplishments over these past years, as an actor, serious The Social Network, or comedy, Saturday
Night Live, for his style and I suppose, also good looks, and most of all for being the big hitmaker, Suit And Tie and member of one of the greatest boy bands of all time, N’Sync.
And he has not stopped making hit songs. JT has a big hit that will surely be in the running as the 2016 summer song, the dance inducing Can’t Stop The
Feeling! from the soundtrack of the upcoming animated flick
Trolls. JT also provides the voice for the lead troll. Troll here does not mean Internet or social media troll. This is troll, as in those troll dolls with stand-up hair from the ‘80s era. I bet JT will still look cute even with that hairstyle.
