Palawan Waterpark opens in Puerto Princesa

-

The new Palawan Waterpark has finally opened in Puerto Princesa City. This 4,000-square meter property is the first inland water theme park in the city, offering local and international guests more reason to visit the capital of the Philippines’ Last Frontier.

The Palawan Waterpark is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features eight unique attractions for visitors of all ages.

The Surf’s Up Pool serves as the park’s main pool and produces waves in six varying settings. The St. Paul River Ride, named after Puerto Princesa’s contribution to the New 7 Wonders of Nature, is a lazy river that goes around the entire water park, providing a unique way for guests to tour the park and see the rest of its facilities.

Two challenging water slides – the Velocity Aqua Slides and the Vortex Slides – will take you on an exhilarating journey down to the Surf’s Up Pool.

The little ones will surely have a grand time splashing around the marine sanctuary where statues of Palawan’s endemic fauna provide great photo opportunities. They can spend hours of fun with the bamboo water cannons, jelly fish water geysers, Palawan crocodiles, the endangered

dugong (sea cow) and the blue whale in this splash pad.

The Marine Sanctuary is also home to the Batak Misters, five colorful and towering structures inspired by the Batak Tribe of Palawan found in San Rafael. The tribe is one of the last indigenous groups existing in the Philippines.

The Tumbling Blocks Kidzone is another attraction designed for younger children, featuring smaller versions of the park’s slides, tube slides, a tumbling bucket of water and a hoop spray tunnel.

To rest and regain energy for more fun in the sun, 17 cabanas with picnic tables are scattered around the park. A light snack and a bottle of water are included in the park’s entrance fee, although other snack items may also be ordered ala carte.

For those who wish to stay more than a day, Palawan Waterpark is adjacent to Astoria Palawan, a beachfront property built on a lush five-hectare mango orchard offering unobstructed views of Honda Bay and the Sulu Sea and behind the resort, the majestic mountains of San Rafael.

Palawan Waterpark by Astoria is located at 62 Km North National Highway, Barangay San Rafael Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
