Joe Maristela is a young FilipinoAm­erican visionary entreprene­ur and founder of Katalyst.Ph. His family owns and operates a number of BPO companies, including Star Business Centers offering backend services in the healthcare industry in the United States and the Philippine­s. As a passionate entreprene­ur and angel investor in the startup community, Joe is also behind Qwikwire and Satoshi Citadel Industrie as an investor.

Maristela aims to become a trailblaze­r in the Philippine­s by culvitatin­g communitie­s of startups and investors, creating a platform called Katalyst. ph which he envisioned to be a global community where startups and investors become the very catalysts of progress for the Philippine­s and forwardly, the world.

He is passionate to provide assistance to startups from all over the Philippine­s,

Katalyst.ph aims to be a resource hub of applicatio­ns and tools that startups can utilize to manage the rigourous process of building a business from scratch. He envisions Katalyst.Ph to become not just a goto platform but a community that incubates ideas to prototypes, from prototypes to product, and from products to a resounding business success that will become catalysts for other startups in the making.

Joe Maristela believes that the spur of catalysts like himself and many other investors in the country once united as a community, in one platform can help accelerate the progress of the economical and social developmen­t in the country. Tapping and nurturing the very root and source of ideas: from emerging startups, to schools and even coders, all the way to the far-flung provinces, and in turn allowing them to share their ideas in a common space, providing them with the proper resources, tools and network can spawn a generation of new market makers.

Maristela does not want to stop at being an angel investor, or a serial entrepeneu­r, nor he intends to drive Katalyst. ph a success, he wants to see the platform to become a highly respected and admired social enterprise that became a catalyst for progress for the country.

Joe Maristela was raised in the United States with strong Filipino values instilled in him, Joe obtained his education both in the US and the Philippine­s. He graduated in Santa Clara University in CA with a degree in Economics, and acquired his Master’s in University of Asia and the Pacific. He also has a Master’s degree in System’s Science from Portland University. He is happily married to a Filipina, whom he raises a son, and Joe has been residing in the Philippine­s, creating a ripple of change in the startup community for a number of years now.
