- By EDITH REGALADO

DAVAO CITY – Mayor Sara DuterteCarpio yesterday offered a P2-million reward to anyone who can give information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators of the night market bombing along Roxas Avenue here that killed at least 15 people and injured 70 others last week.

Duterte-Carpio wants authorities to capture the bomber alive.

“We want him alive because we want all the necessary information we can get from him,” she said. “We want to talk to him and find out who ordered the bombing and why it was carried out. We want to know who his cohorts are and the group’s other terror plans.”

The mayor said she has set aside P1 million from the city government’s funds for information about the suspects. The business sector in Davao City shelled out another P1 million for whoever can deliver the bomber to police, she said.

Duterte-Carpio visited yesterday the wake of one of the victims of the explosion, 27-year-old Kristia Gaile Bisnon, in Tacurong City.

Bisnon worked as a private nurse for the mayor when she suffered complications at the start of her pregnancy.

“She was dedicated to her work as a nurse. Even if there was nothing else to do, she would stay and watch over me,” the mayor said.

Duterte-Carpio led a memorial service for the bombing victims on Saturday.

Police said they were hunting down three people who could be responsible for the bombing in the hometown of President Duterte.

The government said the Abu Sayyaf could have carried out last Friday’s bomb attack in response to a military offensive launched against the bandits since last week.

The President declared a state of lawlessness in the country following the deadly explosion.
