Kim roars to 3rd Petron kart win in row

Jarred Kim posted his third straight victory as he firmed up his lead in the Mini-ROK XCS class of the Petron Tri-Activ ROK Karting Super Series at the Carmona Racetrack in Cavite recently.

Kim, the Empire-Red Bull Racing top gun, went neck-and-neck against Inigo Anton of Edgesport Racing nearly throughout the 15-lap race with the former taking the thrilling duel in a photo-finish, pulling off a mere 0.055 of a second feat.

Zach David took third place while Joharry Suba finished fourth in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Associatio­n Philippine­s.

The win was actually Kim’s fifth straight as he pooled a total of 350 points, 110 points ahead of David, who had 240, while Anton is in far third with 166, losing crucial points after missing the Palawan race of the event sponsored by Petron, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4, Petron XCS, Petron Ultron, Petron Xtra, Petron Sprint, Magnolia Pure Water and Yokohama the official tires.

Khazart Romoff, also of EmpireRed Bull Racing, shared the spotlight as he scored a double title feat, ruling the Formula Cadet Novice Ultron class and the Cebu Club Race.

Romoff dominated the Formula Cadet Novice Ultron class over Suba, William Go, Junho Kim and Miguel Angeles then topped the Cebu Club Race over William Go and Miguel Angeles.
