9 drug suspects slain
Nine more drug suspects were killed in separate incidents in Luzon in the past two days.
Four were slain in antidrug operations in Bulacan yesterday.
Two of the fatalities were identified as Ruben Angustia, a resident of Mary Grace Subdivision in Barangay Sta. Rosa in Marilao town, and Marcelo de la Cruz, of Barangay Bambang in Bocaue.
Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat, Bulacan police acting director, said Angustia resisted arrest during a sting along MacArthur highway in Barangay Abangan Sur, Marilao.
Caramat said the suspect yielded two sachets of shabu, a caliber .38 revolver and ammunition.
He said De la Cruz’s companions Ronalyn de Vera and Jermy Marcilla were arrested.
Police said 15 sachets of shabu, a .22-caliber revolver and P1,000 in cash were recovered from the suspects.
Caramat said two men who have yet to be identified were killed during an anti-drug operation in Barangay Longos in Pulilan town.
Also yesterday, Arthur Manlangit was killed when he reportedly shot it out with police during a sting in Talisay, Camarines Norte at around 1:15 a.m.
Manlangit was the second most wanted drug personality in Talisay, said Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.
Rodel Bondi, 24, was talking with his fellow tricycle drivers while waiting for passengers in Barangay San Vicente in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan on Monday night when unidentified men shot him several times.
Superintendent Marceliano Desamito Jr., Urdaneta City police acting director, said Bondi was ranked fifth on the barangay drug watchlist.
In Quezon, Camaldin Sarip was killed in a sting in Purok Dupax Poblacion, Barangay Bantilan in Infanta town at around 4: 45 a. m. yesterday, said Senior Superintendent Antonio Yarra, Quezon police director.
Yarra said Camaldin’s wife Ely was arrested. He said Camaldin was the leader of a drug ring.
In Camarines Norte, Arly Cabarle, 32, was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Camambugan in Daet town.
Police said Cabarle was driving his motorcycle on his way to the Hall of Justice to attend a hearing at around 11:15 a.m. yesterday when he was shot.
In Paracale town, Eduardo Gutierrez was found dead along the shore in Barangay Tugos. His body bore gunshot wounds.
Police said Gutierrez was ranked ninth on their drug watchlist.
Shabu, drug paraphernalia seized
Meanwhile, police said simultaneous raids on the city and municipal jails in Cavite yielded loose firearms, several sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
The raids were part of Oplan Galugad under the Double Barrel project of the Philippine National Police.
More than 15 drug pushers were arrested in Tanza, Rosario and Silang towns and the cities of Bacoor, Imus and Dasmariñas, said Senior Superintendent Arthur Bisnar, Cavite police director.
