Pacquiao is set to leave for Los Angeles tonight to drum up his Nov. 5 clash with WBO welterweig­ht champion Jessie Vargas in Las Vegas.

A press launch is set Sept. 8 at the Beverly Hotel. On the same day, tickets to the fight will go on sale, with the most expensive at $1,000 and the cheapest at $50.

It’s the first time that fight fans can watch a Pacquiao fight live for $50.

Jerwin Ancajas, the newly crowned IBF junior-bantamweig­ht champion, made a quick visit to the office of Sen. Manny Pacquiao the other day, presented his IBF belt and received a bonus of P500,000.

Ancajas, 24, a native of Panabo in Davao del Norte, floored Puerto Rico’s McJoe Arroyo in the eighth round en route to a unanimous decision last Saturday evening at the Philippine Navy Gym in Taguig.

“He was very happy because the gift from Sen. Pacquiao was bigger than his fight purse,” said Aquiles Zonio, the public informatio­n officer of Pacquiao.

Ancajas, who worked hard to get a shot at the title held by the 30-yearold Puerto Rican, fought for $3,700 or the equivalent of a measly P173,000.

With another sanctionin­g fee of $1,000 from the IBF, the newest Filipino boxing champion took home no more than $2,700.
