6 more suspects killed in drug war

Six persons, including two couples, were killed by suspected vigilantes since Tuesday in the continuing drug war in Metro Manila.

In Pasay City, police said Jaylord Clemente, 33, and his partner Marilyn Cortez, 33, were shot dead by two unidentifi­ed men at their house in Don Carlos Village, Barangay 190.

Witnesses told authoritie­s that the assailants fled on a motorcycle after the attack.

Police described Clemente as a known drug user in the area who had served time in jail for illegal drug possession.

Responding police officers found Clemente and Cortez sprawled in their room with multiple gunshot wounds.

In Quezon City, a couple, who had surrendere­d to police for alleged drug peddling, was killed by unidentifi­ed gunmen.

Police said Reynaldo Santos, 46, and his partner Divina Lucena, 45, were shot dead on the second floor of their house in Barangay Commonweal­th.

A bond paper with the words “pusher kami ‘wag tularan” was found at the scene. In Pasig City, Ronaldo Velasco, alias Ronron, said to be a drug pusher, was shot dead by four unidentifi­ed men who broke into his house at the Javier Compound in Barangay Rosario.

Velasco died at the scene. His girlfriend was unharmed, the Eastern Police District said.

According to police, Velasco was included in the drug watchlist of Barangay Rosario.

Authoritie­s said drug addicts frequented Velasco’s house.

In Manila, the body of another drug suspect believed to be a victim of summary execution was found under the Jones Bridge yesterday.

Police have yet to identify the fatality, whose face was covered with packing tape.

A piece of paper with the words “holdaper at pusher

ako” was found near the body.
