Suds up at Sofitel’s Oktoberfest
O ktoberfest is just around the corner. But before our minds get all sudsy with beer, let’s look back at how fun last year’s festivities were at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, which has been making happy beer-day for six years already.
Did you know that over 7,000 maß (the traditional one-liter mug) of beer were consumed in a span of two days by 3,350 guests? Must’ve been a hell of a hangover for everyone. These fun-loving and food-loving peeps sure know how to party as they also downed 1,300 kilos of German sausages — ring bratwurst, cheese sausages, Cervelat sausages, MünchnerWeisswurst, Münchner bratwurst and Hungarian sausages — 700 kilos of chicken and 600 kilos of sauerkraut in those two days as well.
This year’s Oktoberfest promises to be bigger and better as Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s master artisans remain true to their commitment to gastronomic excel- lence. On Oct. 7 and 8, indulge in an endless stretch of delicious Bavarian culinary specialties — pork knuckles, roasted calf, laugen rolls, grilled German sausages and mouthwatering pastries — and limitless servings of San Miguel beer towers as the servers go merrily hopping around in lederhosen and dirndls to ensure everyone’s having a beer-y good time!
The Harbor Garden Tent will be transformed once again into an expansive biergärten for the most authentic beer festival in the country featuring the musical stylings of the Bavarian Sound Express as they play traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest music, German and international party hits.
The event is co-presented by the German Club Manila, which is celebrating 110 years in the Philippines.
After an evening of gastronomic indulgence and live musical entertainment, retreat to a relaxing sanctuary at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila for a staycation.
