Widow loses P3.6 M to robbers

A 70-year-old widow lost more than P3.6- million in cash and jewelry to unidentifi­ed robbers who broke into her home in Quezon City on Thursday, police said yesterday.

Robbers ransacked Maria Danay’s home in Barangay Teacher’s Village between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., police said.

A blotter entry from the Quezon City police stated that Danay and her family discovered that the sliding door at the back of the house was forcibly opened when they returned home that night.

Danay told police she found that her room and her daughter’s room were already unlocked and in disarray.

Around P3.5 million worth of jewelry, P100,000 in foreign currency, and P22,000 cash, which were kept inside the cabinets, were reported stolen.
