10 drug suspects slain in MM

Ten people believed to be involved in illegal drug deals were killed in separate incidents in Metro Manila in the past two days.

Five suspected drug pushers were shot dead in an encounter with police in Manila.

Two men on a motorcycle were killed after they reportedly shot it out with members of the Padre Algue community precinct at the corner Jose Abad Santos and Quiricada streets in Tondo at dawn yesterday.

Police have yet to identify the slain suspects, who were declared dead on arrival at the Jose Abad Santos General Hospital. Their cohort managed to escape.

The suspects allegedly yielded two sachets of shabu and two .38-caliber revolvers.

Roldan Amora, Reynaldo Agrigado and Raffy Sardido were killed by members of the Manila Police District Station 11 in separate anti-drug operations in Binondo on Tuesday night.

Police said they recovered 11 sachets of shabu from the suspects.

In Quezon City, two alleged drug personalit­ies were killed by motorcycle-riding assailants in separate incidents less than an hour apart on Tuesday night.

Mark Jill Ambat, 21, and Jerica Ang, 22, were shot dead in Barangays Batasan Hills and Commonweal­th, respective­ly.

Police said Ambat was walking with his cousin and sister along Kalayaan B street when five men on a motorcycle approached them.

A witness told probers that a backrider got off the motorcycle and shot Ambat several times before fleeing.

Ambat had surrendere­d to authoritie­s under Oplan Tokhang before he was killed.

Ang was shot dead by unidentifi­ed assailants while waiting for a ride with her family in front of a church along Commonweal­th Avenue.

Ang died from a gunshot to the head at the East Avenue Medical Center.

Ang’ s partner, To to Sarmiento, managed to flee.

Police said Ang and Sarmiento had been arrested by barangay officials for their alleged involvemen­t in drug deals.

The couple was released after Ang’s father went to the barangay, police said.

In Navotas, a suspected drug pusher was killed and a police officer was wounded in a reported shootout.

Police identified the fatality as Glenly Royo, of Maliputo, Barangay North Bay Boulevard South.

Police Officer 1 Ryan Mones is still recuperati­ng at the Tondo Medical Center.

Reports said members of the Navotas police community precinct 4 were implementi­ng Oplan Tokhang when they encountere­d Royo and his cohort.

The duo allegedly pulled out their guns and fired at Mones, prompting police to return fire.

Police said they recovered a loaded .38-caliber revolver, a sachet of shabu and drug parapherna­lia from Royo.

Two more drug suspects were slain in Pasay City.

Marbil Ambat was shot dead by unidentifi­ed gunmen, police said.

Roberto Cuneta was killed by suspected vigilantes. His partner, Rodesa Lakap, was wounded and taken to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the body of a man believed to be a victim of summary execution was found yesterday along Buendia Avenue, also in Pasay.

Probers have yet to determine if the killing was related to drugs.
