MTRT holds motorcycle races

The Motorcycle Taiwan Research Team (MTRT) is staging four races – the RxR Club Race, the Team Spirit Race, the Faito Cup and the Koso Cup – serving as side events to the season ender of the 2016 Eneos Philippine Motorsport­s Championsh­ips Sunday at the Clark Internatio­nal Speedway in Pampanga.

MTRT COO Henson Hu said the races are expected to draw the crowds as the country’s top motorcycle riders clash for titles in the event which aims to promote two-wheel racing with the support from Honda, MTRT, Faito, Koso and Racing Boy.

Veteran Jaime Barcial and Kerbie Bergania lead the cast in the RxR Club Race where riders vie for the titles in the Wildcard, Elite and MME-ERF categories.

Mark Djerrick Ondillo, Meng Sevilla and Mike Rafael Alcala loom as top favorites in the Faito Cup Club Prix, which features competitio­ns in the 115 UB 2V (115cc. 2-valve underbone), 130 UB 2V (130cc. 2- valve underbone) and 150 UB 2V/ 4V ( 150cc 2-valve and 4-valve underbone) classes.

John Edward Godoy and James Amporias lead the cast in the Koso Cup, open to non-expert riders who will be gunning for the crowns in the DOHC and Ultra Head divisions.

Godoy also banners the Team Spirit Race which is expected to lure another record field of competing riders who will dispute the plums in the 130cc Street Legal, 160cc Street Legal, 160cc Open and the Expert Riders Honda Beat.

Among the teams that have confirmed their participat­ion in the Team Spirit Race are Team Arbeat, Team Fader and Sun, Team 251 Motors, Team Joel Scooter/Valenzuela, Team M & I/CRT, Team FASTEK, Team E.A.S and Team Jayney’s.
