- By RICHMOND MERCURIO

Volkswagen Philippines announced yesterday its tie up with Shangri-La hotel for the latter’s Makati hotel automotive requirements.

Under the partnership, a total of 80 Volkswagen vehicles were purchased by the hotel, including 40 units of the compact sedan Jetta and 31 units of the Passat limousines.

“I am extremely honored that one of the country’s most prestigious luxury hotels, the Makati Shangri-La, has partnered with Volkswagen. As we formally hand over 31 Passat limousines which completes the 80 Volkswagen cars ordered, I am simply amazed at how perfectly aligned our collaboration is. Nothing would delight us more than to provide our valued passengers — your valued hotel guests — the level of premium transportation experience that puts people first,” Volkswagen Philippines president and CEO John Philip Orbeta said.

Volkswagen Philippines said the fleet of Volkswagen cars for Makati ShangriLa’s guests should enhance Makati Shangri-La’s hotel services portfolio.

The firm said the world-class German automotive engineering, design and craftsmanship characteristic of every Volkswagen model make the brand ideal vehicle for business travellers who choose the Makati Shangri-La as their hotel as it would assure them of premium comfort and convenience even during airport transfers.
