Face of Allure: Bianca Hillerstam
Bianca Isabella Mikaela de Vera Hillerstam’s alluring smile and graceful demeanor radiate enough light that can brighten anyone’s day. With poise and her feminine charm, she looks at life always with a positive mind and a happy heart.
“Beauty is embracing and accepting yourself, and being comfortable in your own skin. There is also beauty in seeing other people’s happiness,” says 18- year- old Bianca, the daughter of ByltAx Systems Inc. CEO Mats Hillerstam, and talented interior designer Isabel de Vera Hillerstam.
As the youngest in the family, Bianca takes the life lessons she learned from her parents and brother Marco to heart. “I am close to my family and I am very open with them, even with my brother. I consider him my best friend,” shares Bianca, who is of Swedish- Filipino descent.
“I lear ned f rom my dad the value of having a positive outlook and being nice to people I meet. And from mom, it is to
be bold in everything that I do and have integrity in what I say or do. She instilled in me to put God first always,” she adds.
Bianca is a freshman at the Enderun Col l ege s ta k i ng up I nt er n a t io na l Hospit a l it y Ma nagement major i ng in Hotel Administ ration. Though her childhood dream was to be an actress, her family’s constant travels gave way not just to her love of t raveling but also to her fascination with hotels — thei r culture, how they are run and thei r history.
“My dream now is to be a manager of a top international hotel and travel the world. I get drawn to hotels’ feel and ambience. I see the hotel managers get busy but looks like they’re having fun mingling with people. And what I love about t raveling is it exposes me to different cultures and different perspectives. I learned so many things from traveling and that there are still a lot more in the world to see,” says the soft- spoken beauty.
At 18, Bianca considers herself a typical teenage girl who loves to hang out with friends, go out for a movie or go shopping and engage in different activities such as dancing ( hip- hop, jazz, modern and ballet), gymnastics and playing tennis. Even at a young age, Bianca knows what is certain — the nuggets of wisdom she has learned from people dear to her will allow her to stay on the right path.
With a strong faith in God and her willingness to learn, together with the guidance of people that matter to her, Bianca sees a bright future ahead of her. “One of the things I live by is my favor ite bible verse Jeremiah 29:11, which says ‘ For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ I know God’s plans for me. I trust His plan and through this, whatever decision I make, I don’t worry,” she concludes.
