26 drug suspects killed

At least 26 people allegedly involved in illegal drug deals were killed in separate incidents in Metro Manila in the past three days.

Nineteen of the drug suspects were killed in Caloocan and Malabon cities.

Police identified the fatalities in Caloocan as Nemil Martin, 31; Jimmy Javier, 29; Richard Panganiban, 38; Alfredo Nieto, 33; couple Richard Cham and Rovelyn Prado; Jimmy Montenegro, 46; Randy David, 38, and his partner Marnele Carrido, 28; Mark Edwin Enriquez, 21; Rakim Romorus; Alexander Ponciano; Ronnie Sinadhan, 38; Gennilyn Malate, 42, and Jaypee Quizon.

Police said only Romorus was killed in a legitimate anti-drug operation. The rest were shot dead by unidentifi­ed assailants believed to be vigilantes, according to authoritie­s.

Three men who were reportedly on the drug watchlist were killed in an ambush in Malabon on Saturday.

Ricardo Pablo, 32; Carlo Rodriguez, 36, and Ricardo Sartin, 39, were standing at the corner of Governor Pascual Avenue and Reyes street in Barangay Concepcion when two men on a motorcycle opened fire at them, city police chief investigat­or Inspector Dennis Javier said.

In Quezon City, three drug suspects died and two police officers were wounded in separate stings yesterday.

Leandro Antonio Kanashi, 33, and his cohort were killed after they allegedly traded shots with police in Barangay Botocan.

Kanashi is allegedly linked to the slain sister of actress Maritoni Fernandez, Maria Aurora Moynihan, who was described by police as a drug supplier to celebritie­s.

PO2 Julis Albao was hurt in the shootout and taken to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.

Rommel Haban, 20, was killed in an alleged shootout with PO1 John Dale Ang following a drug deal in Barangay Bagbag.

Ang was also hit in the exchange of gunfire.

Haban allegedly yielded 10 packs of shabu, a .38-caliber pistol and P200 in marked money.

Another suspected drug pusher was shot dead in Manila yesterday.

Fabie de Asis, 34, was sleeping when unidentifi­ed men broke into his house and fired at him, SPO2 Jonathan Bautista of the Manila Police District homicide unit said.

Police found a piece of paper, which read “drug pusher, huwag tularan” at the scene.

De Asis had surrendere­d to police prior to the killing.

In San Juan, a drug surrendere­e was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle in Barangay Little Baguio.

Jeffrey Imperial died on the spot from a gunshot to the head, Chief Superinten­dent Romulo Sapitula, director of the Eastern Police District, said.

Bodies dumped in Bilibid

The bodies of two alleged drug pushers were dumped at the New Bilibid Prison compound in Muntinlupa on Saturday.

The fatalities were identified only as Nonoy and Kalbo, city police chief Senior Superinten­dent Nicolas Salvador said.

Salvador said the two bore gunshot wounds and their hands were tied with packing tape. Police said they recovered 10 sachets of shabu and marijuana from the suspects.
