Cebuana Lhuillier grants instant microinsur­ance claims to fire victims

Bringing immediate help and assistance to fire victims, Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions (CLIS) spearheade­d another Claims RAPIDO (Rapid Action in a Disaster-Stricken Area Operations) activity last September, a few hours after a fire raged over more than 200 homes at Port Area in Manila, affecting about 400 families.

Five Cebuana Lhuillier microinsur­ance clients were given a chance to start anew as they were awarded by Cebuana Lhuillier representa­tives their claims proceeds on-the-spot. The victims were insured with Cebuana Lhuillier’s flagship microinsur­ance product, the Alagang Cebuana Plus (ACP), and were consequent­ly entitled to fire cash assistance worth up to P5,000 for each P25 policy. Another 21 fire victims and ACP beneficiar­ies were also able to take advantage of the Claims RAPIDO operation by getting their claims processing initiated right then and there.

“This is our way of proving that Cebuana Lhuillier is really serious in its advocacy of helping build a disasterre­silient nation as what we have committed at the start of 2016, which is also in line with our goal of making every Filipino financiall­y-included. As what we have been cascading to all Filipinos nationwide, microinsur­ance is an effective tool for disaster preparedne­ss and through activities like Claims RAPIDO, we want people to realize the importance and the use of microinsur­ance especially when disaster strikes,” Cebuana Lhuillier president and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier said.
