Parkmall signals start of the Christmas season

-

Christmas came early at Parkmall in Cebu with a two-day Season Opening Sale last Oct. 14 and 15. The excitement of anticipation for the holidays was boosted with Parkmall’s great shopping finds, hot dining deals, daytime fireworks and spoken poetry, among others. A Christmas

Lighting Ceremony highlighted the event with Kapamilya star Jerome Ponce serenading the shoppers.

To usher in the celebration, the Mandaue skies were lit by a dazzling daytime fireworks display last Oct. 14. Such a grand display was true to Parkmall’s pioneering spirit in coming up with innovative and out-of-the-box malling experience like the 36-Hour Non-Stop Sale. Live performances were offered to shoppers who were taking a quick break from hunting for great finds. It gave friends and families time to bond. Those who were in the mood to play wordsmiths for a day had a blast at the Spoken Word Poetry Open-Mic session at the second floor of the two-level mall.

But it was really Jerome who sent hearts aflutter with a meet-and-greet session. Jerome gained popularity in the hit early morning series Be Careful With My Heart where he played Luke, one of the children of Richard Yap. He has since been a fixture in various ABS-CBN shows.

Parkmall’s Season Opening Sale took on a more solemn tone the evening of Oct. 15 in A Classic Christmas Affair: Parkmall’s

Christmas Lighting Ceremony. It was graced by the angelic voices of the awardwinning Mandaue Children’s Choir. The Mandaue Children’s Choir first came into prominence when it won the grand prize in the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) in 2004.

To cap the two-day season opening celebration, early Christmas gifts were given to indigent children. “Christmas is really for children. It is also about families coming together,” says Parkmall GM Neal Co. “Parkmall will always think of ways to celebrate the spirit of sharing and giving that’s why we decided to usher in the Christmas season early as a way of thanking all our loyal patrons and tenants for being with us through the good times and the challenging ones.”
