DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has displayed its global drive aimed at giving back to local communities and instilling the spirit of volunteerism through their employees’ recent corporate social responsibility activities within Malabon and Manila areas.

Last Oct. 22, in partnership with Food for the Hungry Philippines, a non-profit organization that aims to end poverty for the benefit of the most vulnerable part of the community, and children, employees went to spend time with 47 underprivileged public elementary students from Malabon Elementary School.

The event included a series of nutritious breakfast distribution, tree-planting, vision workshop and donation activity. It was concluded by creating a handprint collage together with the children and employees.

Another group of employees went to the Philippine General Hospital in Manila later that day to share joy to the children in the pediatric ward area. They distributed food, loot bags and brought in a party mascot to delight them.

Early this year, among 60 underprivileged public elementary students from Quezon City were the beneficiaries of the DHL-Teach for the Philippines partnership environmental awareness workshop.

Various activities and discussions on reducing, recycling and segregating waste were conducted during the company’s Global Volunteer Day activity which included fundraising projects such as replacing coffee with water in vending machines in DHL offices, food and clothing bazaars, and a benefit concert were held. The proceeds were shared with the employees for the events held.
