A Kapuso kind of Halloween

-

The spookiest time of the year is just around the corner. Everyone is surely preparing their favorite Halloween costumes for the parties and festivities they will attend to. While zombies, witches, devils, monsters, vampires and skeletons remind us of death and darkness, these Kapuso artists share their favorite horror characters and the most terrifying movie villains who continue to haunt their dreams and send shivers down their spines.

Glaiza de Castro — Sadako talaga. I remember she’s the most effective na character noon para sa’kin. I was still in high school and after kong panoorin, I keep seeing her in my mind. Siya yung tumatak talaga.

Kylie Padilla — Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, because I like how they made the movie and the character. She’s so innocently in love with the idea of love and dahil doon she died, and then nabuhay siya ulit kasi someone proposed to her but then in the end, tinanggap niya and she let him go. Then she became free.

Rafael Rosell — It’s Freddy Krueger of A Nightmare on Elm Street. For me, he is really scary because he has the ability to invade people’s dreams.

Michael V. — Dati lagi ko sinasabi si GMA (Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo) because I have a thing about a character who is in power. But looking back, parang si Juni Lee pala kasi parang siya yung pinakamalapit sa personality ko as Bitoy. He interviews different personalities. So for me, nakakatakot siya ( laughs).

Rocco Nacino — My favourite character would be a classic — Freddy Krueger of Nightmare on Elm Street. I used to have nightmares about him really. There were times that he would run after me. So when I have bad dreams, it would always be a figure of someone with long nails and nakakatakot.

Andre Paras — My favourite horror character would be Jason Voorhees from the Freddy vs. Jason movie. I just like his mask kasi, it’s interesting.

Rhian Ramos — Honestly, I am really afraid of clowns. Ever since I was young, for me, they’re just so freaky. You don’t really know what’s under their makeup and they always smiling na parang imposible kasi yun, di ba?

Mikee Quintos — It’s Valak of Conjuring. She is really scary, nag- stick siya sa mind ko kahit after the movie. And knowing na true story pa yun, its really creepy.

Sef Cadayona — Siguro hindi na ito kilala ng mga kabataan ngayon pero I clearly remember Undin, the monster who hides inside the comfort rooms.

Gabbi Garcia — I don’t really watch horror movies because I get very scared. But the creepiest character for me is Leatherface from the movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I had nightmares after watching the teaser. Feeling ko papatayin niya ako kapag natutulog ako.

Kristoffer Martin — Si Freddy of Nightmare on Elm Street. Ever since I was young, napapanood ko na siya and every time I go to sleep, I get paranoid thinking of him.

Thea Tolentino — Valak from the movie Conjuring. The creepy nun with white and black makeup. Ayoko

lang makakita ng multo na nun, priest or clown.

Kiko Estrada — It’s Jack Nicholson of The Shining. He is the scariest for me.

Arra San Agustin — My favorite horror character would be Annabelle because I’m afraid of dolls. I love dolls kasi nilalaro ko sila nung bata ako pero pag- scary na sila, no way! Nai- imagine ko kasi sila fino- follow ako.

Valeen Montenegro — Yung mga exorcists. I can’t imagine someone being possessed by spirits, may mga ganung nilalang na gumagala sa Earth.

Betong Sumaya — Manananggal. Yung sa Shake Rattle and Roll part 1, yung kay Herbert Bautista. Nakakakilabot. I also did a movie na may manananggal — Basement with Ellen Adarna. I live in Antipolo. So maraming mga puno, bundok. Nakakatakot ang setting na naiisip mo palang, mamaya may lilipad na pala sayo at kakainin ka.

Diego Llorico — Krueger. He always kills someone. Ayoko kasi talaga ng killings. Natatakot ako.

Boy 2 Quizon — The miniseries IT. I want to be that character there — yung killer clown. Takot na takot ako sa kanya ever since I was small. Tapos nung tumanda

Kim Domingo — White lady.

Until now na pag sinabi nila na: ‘Uy may white lady dyan,’ matatakot na ako agad.

Jay Arcilla — Manananggal kasi wala siyang paa. I haven’t seen one kaya I’m really curious. Gusto makakita paano nahahati yung katawan nila.

MoyMoy Macasero — Ang pinakanakakatakot sa akin is yung anak ni Janice (de Belen) na tiyanak sa movie. ako, parang ang sarap gulpihin and feeling ko lahat ng

clown dapat bugbugin.

Denise Barbacena — The nun Valak in Conjuring. Hindi ko siya matignan, I don’t want to remember her face.

Arny Ross — Scariest for me ay Kapre. I heard a lot of stories that it’s real. I always get paranoid thinking about it na kapag kapre is malaking lalake na nakabantay sayo. So for me, creepy siya.

RJ Padilla — Tiyanak. Pinoy classic. For something so tiny tapos kaya niyang pumatay, it’s really creepy.
