Grand Wine Experience set on Nov. 4
The Department of Tourism (DOT) and Philippine Wine Merchants ( PWM) continue their partnership in the 16th Grand Wine Experience (GWE) on Nov. 4 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Resorts World Manila, in Pasay City.
Master classes will be held on Nov. 3 ahead of the main GWE event at the Marriott Hotel. Speakers incude renowned winemakers from world-class vineyards from different countries.
This grandest wine event in Southeast Asia celebrates its 16th year with over 500 wines and spirits from 22 countries up for tasting. The wine tasting will be paired with international cuisine to be prepared by executive chef Meik Brammer of the Marriott Hotel, Resorts World Manila.
PWM chairman Robert Lim Joseph’s tourism advocacy includes pushing PWM to bring in more wines and spirits from all over the world for wine tasting and appreciation to encourage more visitors, local and foreign, and wine connoisseurs to attend the Grand Wine Experience and help promote Manila as a wine tasting capital.
The Joseph brothers, the main organizers of the event, want more people to be educated on wine. “We want people not only to enjoy and appreciate wine but also to have adequate knowledge about wine, including developing one’s sense of taste and smell, handling wine, pairing wine and food, and buying wine.”
Seminars on wine appreciation and tasting and wine and food pairings are held regularly at the familyowned Wine Museum Hotel and Resto on Tramo Road, Pasay City.
