Muntinlupa provides free shuttle during Undas

The local government of Muntinlupa will be providing free shuttle services to and from public and private cemeteries from Oct. 31-Nov. 2.

Public informatio­n officer Tez Navarro said that locals can avail free ride in JRF Ejeepneys that will traverse the National Road and also government flexi trucks and buses going to local memorial parks.

Pick-up points of the free shuttle are as follows: those visiting Everest Hills Memorial Park – in front of Susana Heights bus terminal; Japanese Cemetery – in front of under constructi­on government office at Rizal Street; Muntinlupa City Public Cemetery and Aglipay Cemetery – Caltex Station; and for those visiting San Nicolas de Tolentino Cemetery, free shuttle route will be from Sucat East Service Road to Alabang Montillano St., to M.L Quezon St., to Meralco Road Loop.

Navarro said that water stations and assistance desks will be installed manned by personnel from Muntinlupa Police Department, Rescue Department, City Health Office, Community Affairs and Developmen­t Office, and other city government department­s.

Police will be beefing up security and additional traffic constables will be deployed to augment mobilizati­on efforts and traffic management.

As big volume of vehicles is expected during All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, the city government of Muntinlupa published in its Facebook Page the designated parking areas in cemeteries and traffic advisories.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi encourages locals to follow cemetery rules and regulation­s and wishes them a peaceful celebratio­n of the holiday.
