The ABCs of real estate investing
Now is the best time to invest in real estate. Prices are reasonable, lenders are willing to lend and interest rates are low. With lower interest rates on bank deposits, savers are in search of a better investment alternative of which real estate is the answer.
However, because of the broad, diverse and changing intricacies and techniques of real estate, there is an urgent need to first acquire better and new knowledge in real estate on the part of prospective real estate investors, lessors, dealers and developers to save them from the sad misfortunes of learning from their mistakes.
In this regard, a series of lectures on the different how to’s of Investing in Real Estate are continuously conducted by Urban Institute of Real Estate for prospective investors, developers, landowners and realty professionals for them to gain sufficient insights and confidence to finally implement proposed real estate investments.
Participants learn the ABC’s of real estate principles and avoid costly mistakes that were normally suffered by inexperienced investors, and thus were guided to a pleasant and successful real estate business.
Numerous issues concerning real estate investment would be discussed in this new series of seminars which would be conducted Saturdays and Sundays starting Jan. 14 to Feb. 11, 1:15 to 6:45 p.m. at the Don Jose Yulo Caseroom, AIMACCM, Benavides St., corner Trassiera St., Makati City.
The topics, which may be attended separately and are all stand alone are as follows: Jan. 14 – Investing in real estate: Opportunities, techniques and what you need to learn before investing; Jan. 15 – Analysis of prospective real estate investments; Jan. 21– Real estate economics: Foundation of real estate investing; Jan. 22 – Detailed procedure and techniques in Appraisal: How to do it yourself; Jan. 28 – Real estate finance including installment sales; interest, credit, inflations and how it affects your real estate investments; Jan. 29 – How TO’s of financial and investment mathematics, made easy using Excel; Feb. 4 – Contract documentation and registration including notes on frauds and fake titles; Feb. 5 – Legal aspects of real estate sales and leases; Feb. 11 – Taxation of real estate transactions including value added tax.
This lecture series will have as lecturer Engr. Enrico Cruz, who has more than 40 years in real estate, engineering, construction, management and education, together with Atty. Rex Enrico Cruz III and Atty. Gally Angeles. Engr. Cruz is also a licensed real estate consultant and 1st and 8th placer in the real estate appraiser’s and broker’s board examinations respectively, and was invested as a “Real Estate Fellow” and “Diplomate in Real Estate” by the Philippine Council of Real Estate Educators.
