Losing weight is not all about physical activities one has to undergo in order to shed those unwanted pounds. Another factor to consider is one’s food intake. Who would’ve thought that one need not deprive oneself of yummy and tasty meals while on a healthy lifestyle shift?

To help its clients ensure healthy weight loss, Cohen’s Lifestyle Center kicked off its first Cohen Cook- Off Challenge, a cooking competition among its clients to show that they can enjoy appetizing food and lose weight effectively.

Participants who joined the cook- off challenge with their original recipes were Dr. Ianne Tangcangco, 40, a physician who lost 35 lbs. on the program so far;

Marian Remo, 30, an entrepreneur who lost 16 lbs. to date; and Carrie Luis, 26, who just started the program.

Remo won the cook- off challenge with her dish: beef- stuffed zucchini with mango salsa. She took home the grand prize — a Cohen Kitchen Showcase worth P30,000. Runners- up were Tangcangco, who prepared an apple cake; and Luis, who prepared mushroom frittata. Cohen’ s Lifestyle Centre CEO

Barbara Young and director Regina Chuavon welcomed guests to the event. They were joined by the center’s resident chefs Pixie Sevi l la and Anton Uy, cooking instructor Lorraine Timbol and program consultant Carmela Tanjangco.

“Our mantra is that food becomes your medicine. The beauty of the Cohen program is it is all natural. You just have to eat natural food that you buy in the supermarket — what you normally eat. With or without exercise, just by simply following the food prescription with precise food quantity you are given based on your own blood chemistry, you will see rapid, healthy and safe weight loss because it is your hormones that are being corrected ( by the program),” Chuavon said.

Backed by years of medically sound scientific research, the Cohen’s Lifestyle Program is a personalized and rapid weightloss and wellness program that focuses on proper nutrition and uses food as medicine. Each client’s unique blood profile is used as the basis for an individualized eating plan that recommends the personalized quantity of specific types of food to correct the hormonal imbalance that causes weight gain and obesity. The program reportedly delivers fast results, with clients averaging a loss of up to eight to 10 pounds a month.
