Newly formed PBF to host National Championships
The Philippine Bowling Federation (PBF), a member of the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) and World Bowling, is hosting the 2016 PBF National Championships over the weekend at the Coronado Lanes, Starmall Edsa, Mandaluyong.
This will be open to regardless of affiliation.
The singles tournament will feature the Men’s Open, Ladies’ Open, Men’s and Ladies’ Graded, Men’s and Ladies’ Associate, Boys’ and Girls 16 and under, Men’s and Ladies’ Senior. At stake is P700,000 in total prizes. Expected to grace the opening are PBF chairman, Sen. Vicente Sotto III and POC president Jose Cojuangco Jr.
The PBF is headed by former FIQ president Steve Hontiveros. Other officers are Steve Robles (vice president), Alexander Lim (secretarygeneral) and Biboy Rivera (treasurer).
It was incorporated by various stakeholders in Philippine Bowling, including former national athletes, bowling clubs and associations, proprietors and bowling enthusiasts. Heading the coaching staff is six-time world bowling champion Paeng Nepomuceno.
The PBF has just finished a onemonth tryout for aspirants to the 2017-2018 national training pool.
