Cebgo set to launch 2 new local routes

Cebu Pacific subsidiary Cebgo is launching two new flights to expand its presence in the MIMAROPA and Bicol regions.

Beginning Feb. 15, 2017, Cebgo will be offering daily flights between Manila and Masbate; and flights on the Manila to Tablas route four times per week or every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Cebgo will be using the newly- acquired ATR 72- 600 aircraft for both flights.

Through the new routes, Cebgo wants to enable passengers to easily visit the areas in Luzon which are both known for whitesand beaches, waterfalls and diving spots.

“We remain firm in bringing people together through safe, affordable, reliable, and fun-filled air travel. With these additional routes, travellers will now be able to visit these destinatio­ns faster while enjoying CEB’s (Cebu Pacific’s) trademark low fares. Rest assured, we will continue expanding our network to reach more passengers in and out the Philippine­s,” Cebgo president and CEO Alexander Lao said.

At present, Cebu Pacific operates flights from six hubs in the country. These are Manila, Cebu, Davao, Clark, Kalibo and Iloilo.

Cebu Pacific has an extensive network covering over 100 routes and 66 destinatio­ns, spanning Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and US.

Its fleet is composed of five Airbus A319s, 36 Airbus A320s, six Airbus A330s, eight ATR 72-500, and two ATR 72600 aircraft.

The airline expects to take delivery of two more brandnew Airbus A330s, 32 Airbus A321neos, and 14 ATR 72-600 aircraft from this year until 2021.

For this year, the group aims to fly a total of 20 million passengers.

So far, the Cebu Pacific group carried a total of 16 million passengers in the January to October period this year, higher than the 15.22 million in the same period last year.

Last year, it served a total of 18.4 million passengers.
