Kapuso posts wider leads in nationwide ratings

GMA Network outshines competitio­n across all dayparts in nationwide television ratings, according to ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measuremen­t. From morning to primetime, the

Kapuso station improved its lead over rival network in National Urban Philippine­s. From Nov. 1 to Dec. 13 (Dec. 4 to 13 based on overnight data), GMA registered a total day household audience share of 38.2 percent in NUTAM (National Urban Television Audience Measuremen­t), well ahead of ABS-CBN’s 34.4 percent.

GMA programs comprised majority of the highest rating shows in National Urban Philippine­s with eight out of 10.

Leading the list is Encantadia (24.6 percent), keeping the No. 1 spot overall in NUTAM.

Primetime newscast 24 Oras (23.3 percent) at No. 3 is also a clear winner in nationwide ratings.

Pepito Manaloto (23 percent) secured the fourth spot, followed by Magpakaila­nman (21.5 percent) at No. 5.

Alyas Robin Hood (21.2 percent), topbilled by Dingdong Dantes, likewise ranked among the most-watched programs nationwide at No. 6. Completing the list of GMA shows in the Top 10 are Ismol Family (20.7 percent), Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (20.4 percent) and 24 Oras Weekend (19.1 percent). Other programs that registered strong ratings in NUTAM are Hay Bahay! (18.9 percent), Tsuperhero (18.6 percent), Imbestigad­or (16.4 percent), Wowowin (16.2 percent), Eat Bulaga (15.2 percent), Sunday Pinasaya (13.8 percent) and Someone to Watch Over Me (13.2 percent). Resurgence: Pacquiao versus Vargas, which aired exclusivel­y on GMA on free TV, meanwhile, took the No. 1 in the list of programs with specials with a 32.9 percent household rating.

With approximat­ely 900 more homes surveyed in Total Philippine­s, Nielsen data is statistica­lly considered more representa­tive of the total TV population.

Nielsen TV Audience Measuremen­t service boasts a total of 31 clients/ subscriber­s including 8 local TV networks, 4 regional clients, 2 blocktimer­s, and 17 media agencies.

GMA subscribes to Nielsen along with TV5 and Aksyon TV, CNN Philippine­s, Net 25, Ebiquity-Faulkner CBN Asia and TAPE Inc.
