Okada Manila extends Christmas preview

- By IRIS GONZALES –

Okada Manila has extended for two days its successful Christmas preview held last Wednesday.

Given this, the integrated casino resort decided to hold two more nights of concerts and parade with complimentary food and drinks up to today, Dec. 23.

Okada Manila is the third casino resort to open in the sprawling 100-hectare Entertainment City in Parañaque.

While not yet fully opened, the company held a preview on Dec. 21, with a Christmas concert featuring top Filipino artists.

“This season of giving, Okada Manila wants to share with you an extraordinary preview of what’s to come. But one night of fun and entertainment isn’t enough to celebrate our extraordinary milestones here at Okada Manila,” the casino resort said in a statement.

During the two- night extension, the hotel’s Bayside festival grounds will hold performances from 7 p.m to 11 p.m.

There will also be complimentary transport services from SM Mall of Asia to shuttle guests to the property, starting at 6 p.m.

The 44-hectare gaming resort had originally planned to open in November but worse-than-expected weather conditions prompted the operator, Tiger Resort and Leisure Entertainment to move it this month.

Tiger is the Philippine affiliate of Japanese casino mogul Kazuo Okada’s Universal Entertainment Corp.

Okada Manila will initially open the first phase, which has an investment of $2.4 billion.

It will open additional areas to the public — such as the hotel, casino and restaurants in phases. The first phase consists of two wings, with a gold exterior. The Pearl and Coral Wings, comprising 15 floors each, will have 993 rooms, ranging from 60 square meter deluxe suites to luxurious 1,400 sqm villas, with each room proving a view of Manila Bay or the resort’s fountain.
