5 drug suspects slain

Five more drug suspects were killed in Luzon in the past two days.

Oscar Baui, alias Oca, fired at police officers during a sting in Barangay Graceville in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan on Wednesday night.

Baui allegedly yielded a .38- caliber revolver, two sachets of shabu and drug parapherna­lia. He was a known distributo­r of shabu in the barangay, police said.

Suspected vigilantes shot dead an unidentifi­ed man in Barangay Gabihan in San Ildefonso town at around 8:35 a.m. yesterday.

A placard identifyin­g the fatality as a drug pusher was found near his body.

In Isabela, Ariel Romano was resting on a hammock in front of his house in Barangay San Jose Norte 2 when he was gunned down on Wednesday.

Witnesses said two men wearing bonnets shot Romano.

Rodante Timbang reportedly shot it out with police operatives in Barangay San Agustin in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Wednesday. The fatality was on the barangay drug watchlist.

Jovan Longabella, alias Hadji, drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Antipolo City on Wednesday night.

Longabella was behind the proliferat­ion of shabu in Barangay Mayamot and nearby areas, said Superinten­dent Ruben Andiso, Antipolo City police chief.

The fatality reportedly yielded a caliber .38 revolver and ammunition, three sachets of shabu and a Honda Mio motorcycle.

Teacher, 17 others nabbed

Meanwhile, a public school teacher was among those arrested in stings across the country since Wednesday.

Charles Darwin Camarao, 45, Math teacher at the Prosperida­d National High School, was collared after a raid on his house in Purok 5, Barangay Patin- ay in Prosperida­d town yielded illegal drugs, said Senior Inspector Jerry Fernandez, Agusan del Sur police chief.

Fernandez said 5.9 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P64,900 were recovered from the suspect.

Ten other drug suspects were nabbed in stings in Alfonso, Bacoor City and Kawit in Cavite, one each in Laguna and Quezon, two in Batangas and three in Rizal.
