BPOs settle in at SM South Tower
The southern part of Metro Manila is fast becoming known as the next address of choice for most companies operating in the country, particularly by the growing BPO industry, thanks to its proximity to the central business districts. Developers are gearing towards commercial and residential projects located in the south to encourage BPOs to decentralize their operations and decongest the metro.
The latest development of SM Prime Holdings Inc. in the area is SM South Tower, an upcoming office building slated for completion by mid-2017 within the SM Southmall complex. This project is aimed at providing economical office spaces to BPOs.
SM Southmall in Las Piñas City is accessible via all modes of transportation, with routes that easily connect people to key areas in the city, such as Coastal Road, Daang Hari and Alabang-Zapote Road. Las Piñas has also implemented the “Friendship Route” where motorists with valid stickers are allowed to pass thru secondary roads and select private villages to reduce the volume of traffic along the main road.
In September 2015, SM Southmall was recognized as one of the prime SM Malls in the country, and is now part of the league as one of the six Premier Malls of SM. SM Southmall is fast becoming known as for its wide array of retail and food options, made more special with its southern charm and hospitality.
“SM South Tower is in the heart of Las Piñas City. Talent is readily available being surrounded by schools and highly populated villages. The building is adjacent to SM Southmall and an ongoing residential project of SMDC called South Residences. This ongoing residential development opens opportunities to investors to rent out units to BPO employees. There is also ease of access from the main thoroughfare of Alabang-Zapote Road. Further, the property has no history of flooding and is safe with round the clock security. Once completed, the complex will embody a live, work and play concept highly attractive to employees aiming for comfort and practicality,” said Bambi Santayana, manager of SM Southmall. She pointed out one of the major advantages of corporate firms considering setting office at the SM South Tower is the rent, which is significantly lower than those in other CBDs.
