5 drug suspects, 5 others gunned down

Five more drug suspects, including the alleged leader of a syndicate operating in Laguna, were killed in Luzon in the past two days.

Motorcycle-riding men shot Arnold Reyes of the Reyes drug ring in Barangay Sta. Ana in San Pablo City, Laguna on Friday.

Leonard Doria, alias Nards, 47, a resident of Barangay Linoc in Binmaley, Pangasinan, was driving his motorcycle when four men on another motorcycle fired at him in Barangay Manat.

Doria tried to escape and entered the house of a certain Angelita Tungol, but the assailants followed him and shot him several times.

In Nueva Ecija, Vincent Soliman, 41, fired at police operatives serving a search warrant for illegal drugs in Barangay Nieves in San Leonardo town.

Soliman was pronounced dead on arrival at the Gonzales General Hospital. Police said the fatality yielded 10 sachets of shabu and a gun.

An alias Tata Ladim allegedly shot it out with antidrug operatives in Barangay Poblacion 4 in General Mariano Alvarez in Cavite also on Friday.

A man identified only as Igo was gunned down in Barangay Molino in Cavite yesterday.

Police said the fatalities were on the drug watchlist in their respective areas.

Meanwhile, five persons died in separate gun attacks since Friday.

Daorong Camad, Edison Lumanglas and Joseph Garcia were shot dead in Barangay Labas in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna; Kumintang Ibaba in Batangas City and San Isidro in Antipolo City, Rizal, respective­ly.

Oscar Onate, 70, an aide of Mayor Darwin Tobias of Sta. Ana town in Cagayan, was at a quarry site in Barangay Visitacion yesterday when he was shot.

In Ilocos Sur, electricia­n Ernesto Galicia, 44, was at a bus terminal in Barangay San Nicolas in Candon City when he was gunned down also yesterday.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the attacks.
