I suppose in this day and age, it should become less surprising. At this time where the subject of gender equality is at the forefront, women all over the world have been making names for themselves in male-dominated professional spheres. Leina Bolinas of Wolfgang’s Steakhouse is a prime example of that. At the tender age of 23, she has worked her way to the very top and is now running the Excello Group of Restaurants. Indeed, Leina embodies youthful energy, entrepreneurship, and determination; and to call her an exceptional young woman would be putting it quite lightly.

Leina is just one of many women in the workforce who are succeeding even when the odds are not in their favor. It is inspiring to hear tales of professional, successful women, pioneering through what can sometimes feel like a male-centric environment.

There are still leaps and bounds to go in terms of women’s rights and gender equality, but the day will come when we finally get to close the gap. So the women who have soldiered on in the face of scrutiny, who have been told they can’t do something because of their gender, and who have worked twice as hard to get only half of what a man gets, they should continue fighting for all women and never be afraid to smash through that glass ceiling.

As for the team behind Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, I am grateful that they put a woman on the forefront and can only hope that other establishments and other industries follow suit. After all, let’s not forget that a woman can do anything that a man can do – and look twice as good doing it.
