Int’l College of Dentists sets 50th annual convocation
The International College of Dentists (ICD), Philippines Section Inc., the pre-eminent organization of dentists from around the world who work to improve the profession through sharing and disseminating advances in dental knowledge and who seek to benefit their communities, will celebrate its golden anniversary as an independent section through an annual convocation and banquet on Jan. 29 at EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City.
The event’s organizing committee headed by the incoming president for 2017, Fellow BGen Reynaldo Torres, DMD through Councilman Hermogenes Villareal has invited ICD International president Rajesh Chandna as the keynote speaker and inducting officer.
The theme for the new administration, “50 years of responsive organizational dynamism for professional excellence” speaks of a leadership that empowers its members to set out and attain new heights.
The new set of officers to be inducted is composed of: Fellows Brig. Gen. Reynaldo Torres, Ma. Liza Centeno, president- elect; Fidel Bondoc, vice president; Preciosa Tanagon, secretary; Gladys Tong- So, treasurer; Leticia Salvador, auditor; Cecilia Diego, Armin Segarra, directors; Victor Torres, PRO; Vivian Gabaldon, immediate past president, Hermogenes Villareal, councilman, and Elizabeth Carrasco, editor.
One of the event’s highlights is the investiture of 41 new fellows. They are Drs. Lester Abes, Florentino Afable, Christopher Aggabao Jr., Phides Pangilinan Alcorta, Renoir Sorreda Amba, Harold Constantino, Cecile Co-Young, Nathan Dacuan, Demetrio Galera Daet, Ernesto Jose De Leon, Genefer De los Reyes, Cynthia Del Castillo, Arnold Duterte, Neil Echiverre, Col. Eugenius Esteban, Jonathan Fandialan, Fernando Fernandez, Maj. Edgar Gonzales, Ma. Prescilla Goquiolay, Ricky Martin Llorca, Ana Romana Locsin, Ma. Cristina Manahan, Marie Joanne Susana Maranon, Col. The Philippine Section which was founded in 1966 is recognized internationally for its relevant contributions to both professional and community development with projects such as faculty development, student leadership program, scholarship, dental outreach, Tree and Mangrove Planting and ICD-Gawad Kalinga Village which recently constructed and turned over the first 10 houses in Bagac, Bataan and oral health education and services.
