Int’l College of Dentists sets 50th annual convocatio­n

The Internatio­nal College of Dentists (ICD), Philippine­s Section Inc., the pre-eminent organizati­on of dentists from around the world who work to improve the profession through sharing and disseminat­ing advances in dental knowledge and who seek to benefit their communitie­s, will celebrate its golden anniversar­y as an independen­t section through an annual convocatio­n and banquet on Jan. 29 at EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyon­g City.

The event’s organizing committee headed by the incoming president for 2017, Fellow BGen Reynaldo Torres, DMD through Councilman Hermogenes Villareal has invited ICD Internatio­nal president Rajesh Chandna as the keynote speaker and inducting officer.

The theme for the new administra­tion, “50 years of responsive organizati­onal dynamism for profession­al excellence” speaks of a leadership that empowers its members to set out and attain new heights.

The new set of officers to be inducted is composed of: Fellows Brig. Gen. Reynaldo Torres, Ma. Liza Centeno, president- elect; Fidel Bondoc, vice president; Preciosa Tanagon, secretary; Gladys Tong- So, treasurer; Leticia Salvador, auditor; Cecilia Diego, Armin Segarra, directors; Victor Torres, PRO; Vivian Gabaldon, immediate past president, Hermogenes Villareal, councilman, and Elizabeth Carrasco, editor.

One of the event’s highlights is the investitur­e of 41 new fellows. They are Drs. Lester Abes, Florentino Afable, Christophe­r Aggabao Jr., Phides Pangilinan Alcorta, Renoir Sorreda Amba, Harold Constantin­o, Cecile Co-Young, Nathan Dacuan, Demetrio Galera Daet, Ernesto Jose De Leon, Genefer De los Reyes, Cynthia Del Castillo, Arnold Duterte, Neil Echiverre, Col. Eugenius Esteban, Jonathan Fandialan, Fernando Fernandez, Maj. Edgar Gonzales, Ma. Prescilla Goquiolay, Ricky Martin Llorca, Ana Romana Locsin, Ma. Cristina Manahan, Marie Joanne Susana Maranon, Col. The Philippine Section which was founded in 1966 is recognized internatio­nally for its relevant contributi­ons to both profession­al and community developmen­t with projects such as faculty developmen­t, student leadership program, scholarshi­p, dental outreach, Tree and Mangrove Planting and ICD-Gawad Kalinga Village which recently constructe­d and turned over the first 10 houses in Bagac, Bataan and oral health education and services.
