PTAA partners with TPB for Travel Tour Expo 2017
The Philippine Travel Agencies Association ( PTAA) is collaborating with the Tourism Promotions Board ( TPB) as it stages the 24th installment of its flagship project Travel Tour Expo ( TTE).
According to TTE Chairperson Maria Michelle Reyes- Victoria, the TTE is one of the best ways to promote travel among Filipinos and the various Philippine tourist destinations.
“The TTE is where we gather in one venue most of the tourism players in the country along with national tourism organizations, embassies, and tourism destinations abroad. It is an event where the country’s tourism industry can further broaden and grow,” Victoria said.
For his part, newly appointed Tourism Promotions Board ( TPB) Chief Operating Officer Cesar Montano said they will be launching new initiatives and marketing approaches for the country’s tourism industry during the expo.
Montano said the Department of Tourism’s regional offices will be housed together in the TPB area at the expo and that they are planning to release a mobile app to promote the country’s various tourism destinations.
More than 300 exhibitors are participating in this year’s edition of the TTE. The PTAA will also hold the second installment of the International Travel Trade Expo which will serve as the business- tobusiness component of the event.
Under Section 46 of Republic Act 9593 or more popularly known as the Tourism Act of 2009, the TPB is mandated to assist the development of the country’s tourism and increase arrivals of tourists in the country as well as local tourists through various marketing and promotion initiatives.
TTE 2017 will open on February 10 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
