DepEd senior high vouchers still accepted at AMA schools
AMA Education System ( AMAES) announced today that it is still accepting Department of Education ( DepEd) SHS vouchers for senior high school enrollees in institutions under its banner for school year 2017-2018.
The voucher program of DepEd allows Grade 10 completers to enroll in non-DepEd schools such as private high schools, colleges, universities, and technical and vocational schools and get either a discount or deduction from the total tuition fee. This gives students the freedom to choose an institution that offers the track they wish to pursue.
AMAES currently offers the following pathways for incoming senior high school students: academics, technical vocational livelihood, sports, and arts and design.
Academic tracks include Accountancy, Business and Management, General Academics, Humanities and Social Sciences and Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Those looking for a Technical Vocational track meanwhile, can choose from Home Economics, Industrial Arts, and Information and Communication Technology. There are also options in Sports Recreation Leadership, and Arts and Design.
Aside from giving students the choices closest to their chosen career path, AMAES also innovates high school education further through Blended Learning – a set-up that combines both classroom style teaching and online- based modules. Using the same technology in their tertiary courses, senior high school students at AMAES institutions will attend school three days a week while the other two days can be spent studying online at the place of their choice.
Since pioneering IT education in the Philippines, AMAES continues to innovate its course offerings with the end goal of empowering students through quality learning methods. Now, senior high school students can also experience the AMA approach to education.
“Learning should be borderless and we believe in using technology to make learning continuous even outside the classroom,” said Dr. Amable Aguiluz V, considered as the father of IT education in the Philippines and founder and chairman of AMAES. “We want to equip our senior high school students with knowledge through a more contemporary approach in teaching which will prepare them better for the modern workplace.”
Senior high school courses are currently offered at the following AMAES schools: AMA University, AMA Colleges, ABE International Business College, ACLC and ACLC College, St. Augustine School of Nursing, Southern Luzon College-Cavite, Sta. Veronica College, and AMA Basic Education.
