Fabio Ide & Harry Morris

T hey are the epitome of cool with their fresh faces, youthful charm and athletic physique. But beneath model/actor/entrepreneur Fabio Ide and national rugby player/ marine biologist Harry Morris are minds that continuously churn out new and exciting ideas.

Fabio, who has become one of the most popular Brazilian models and TV personalities in the country, first captured hearts when he came to the Philippines some six years ago. His fame saw a quick rise when he became a top model of various brands. Today, Fabio is a successful actor and entrepreneur, and is behind some highly popular party establishments like Valkyrie, restaurant Boteco Brasil, gym Fitness Armory, and many more. At 33, Fabio seems to have it all.

“Honestly, it all happened so fast,” he beams. “I arrived here as a model, and I guess I was just in the right place at the right time. I met the right people and good opportunities started coming my way. Now, I’m exploring other avenues and roles I never thought I’d pursue.” Fabio’s other dreams — such as building a home and setting up his new business ventures — are well underway.

Another passionate, modern man, Harry Morris is doing more for the Philippines than just scoring points in the Philippine National Rugby League. He is a certified dive master and a marine biologist who protects the seas. Recently, he was made a board member in an organization that looks af ter ma r ine protect ive areas in the south Davao Gulf region, where he works closely with his team of researchers. In addition to building a profession in sports and marine biology, 32-year- old Harry is also an entrepreneur. He opened a small Portuguese peri- peri chicken restaurant in Mandaluyong, and is establishing his start- up company that deals with waste management.

These two fine men brim with infectious energy and are excited to explore the many different opportunities that come their way.

“My schedule is so busy now, I sometimes don’t sleep,” admits Fabio. “But that’s the way it is. I don’t believe in luck; I believe in hard work, so I’m willing to accommodate everything and pour myself into all my projects.”

Har ry shares as well his secret to being able to do everything at once. “When it comes to balancing my duties as a biologist, player and businessman, I’ve learned that it’s all about time management. You plan and prioritize the things that matter to you.” Thankfully, Harry’s rugby games are usually plotted beforehand so he can move around his other schedules to accommodate his play time. “It’s a matter of being organized, and I take great pride in keeping my daily schedules neat,” shares Harry.

Lucki ly, thei r youth and energy have allowed them to keep up with the demands of their hectic lifestyles. But both understand how a healthy body and a sound mind are crucial in building and sustaining long-term success.

While Harry maintains his level of f itness by training and working out religiously, Fabio likes to change his routine, switching up weights and cardio at the gym with other intense activities

like basketball, CrossFit and surfing in La Union. “When it comes to working out, it’s more than simply about getting fit. For me, it’s trying to regain/achieve that balance — in your mind, body and soul,” he shares.

“What’s the point of having a great body if your mind is not at ease? It’s all connected — the way you feel, the way you look, the way you think. If you’re not feeling well spiritually — even if you have a nice body — you’re not going to be happy. It’s hard to achieve that balance, which is why you have to work for it,” Fabio says. He adds that it’s easy to stray from diets and exercise regimens, so when he needs to jumpstart his wellness journey, he often heads to Blue Water Day Spa. Harry does the same.

“Life and work can really be stressful, but instead of giving in, you can deal with stress properly,” says Harry. “Quick massages and pampering treatments help you unwind and bring yourself back down. Spa trips aren’t a vanity, they’re a necessity if you want to continue performing at your optimal level.”

In addition to the indulgent massages, these two men love Blue Water Day Spa’s wide menu of pampering treatments, which have been developed to specifically address different body concerns. For muscle pains and sports- related stress, there’s the Athlete’s Massage, which is great for active individuals. Swedish and Traditional Filipino massages, on the other hand, offer deep tissue relief. Also, facial treatments help address their different skin issues.

There are many more things that Fabio and Harry want to do and explore, and both are making sure that they’re ready for any of those opportunities. This is why they keep themselves fit, in order to take on these challenges. “When it comes to building success, I don’t take any opportunity for granted. Sometimes the train passes by only once, so I jump on it. More than luck, you need to work hard for your dreams — and in order to do that, you have to have a strong body and a good sense of well- being,” Fabio ends. And Harry couldn’t agree more. *
