MPTC unit bares plan for P30-B Cavite expressway
Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) unit Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC) is planning to build a P30 billion expressway in Cavite.
CIC president Luigi Bautista told reporters his company is planning to build a 7.6-kilometer (km) expressway from Kawit to Rosario in Cavite.
“We got a no objection reply from the DPWH so, we’re preparing the business case and investment proposal,” he said.
He said the plan is to submit the proposal to the Toll Regulatory Board within the year.
He also said CIC is studying the construction of a 4.5-kilometer expressway that would link the Manila- Cavite Toll Expressway (Cavitex) to the proposed international airport in Sangley Point.
All- Asia Resources and Reclamation Corp. ( ARRC) composed of the Tieng family and SM Group’s Belle Corp., are proposing to build an international airport, seaport, as well as to undertake mixed use development on reclaimed land off the coast of Sangley Point in Cavite.
Through the Sangley integrated complex, ARRC wants to decongest the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, as well as major roads in Metro Manila.
“We are studying it because we have to get also the clearance from PRA (Philippine Reclamation Authority),” Bautista said.
PRA is a joint venture partner of CIC under the concession agreement for the Cavitex.
“Hopefully within the year, we get to agree with PRA,” Bautista said.
As for the 7.7- km C- 5 South Link Expressway which would connect the C-5 Road to the Cavitex, he said CIC has tapped FF Cruz Construction & Co. to build the first phase from C-5 Road in Taguig to Merville in Sucat, Parañaque.
MPTC is the tollway arm of infrastructure conglomerate Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC).
MPIC is involved in the following businesses: tollways, rail, water, power, hospitals and logistics.
