PEZA chief at 3rd CREBA monthly meet

Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) director-general Charito Plaza will be the guest of honor and speaker at the third monthly business meeting of the Chamber of Real Estate & Builders’ Associatio­ns, Inc. (CREBA) to be held from 12 noon to 3 pm at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City on March 30.

This was announced by Noel Toti Carino, CREBA national chairman and Charlie Gorayeb, national president.

During the meeting, CREBA and PEZA are set to ink a pact towards the joint promotion of foreign and local investment­s in the developmen­t of economic zones all over the Philippine­s that will generate exports, jobs and other economic opportunit­ies, including housing and real estate.

Plaza holds doctorate degrees in peace and security administra­tion, public administra­tion, ecclesiast­ical law and humanities.

She served three terms as congresswo­man of the first district of Agusan del Norte from 1986- 1998. She holds the rank of Brigadier General under the Armed Forces of the Philippine­s Reserved Force with distinctio­ns as first woman general of the AFP, the Philippine Air Force and of the Mindanao region.

Founded in 1973, CREBA is the Philippine umbrella organizati­on of the real estate and housing industry. Its members are property developers, builders, contractor­s, suppliers and manufactur­ers of constructi­on materials, real estate service practition­ers and other stakeholde­rs engaged in more than 68 allied fields.

Towards its vision of “A Home for Every Filipino”, CREBA’s aspiration­s for the homeless sector are embodied in its “Five-Point Agenda For Housing,” a package of policy and legislativ­e reform proposals developed over the years which target the provision of 500,000 housing units per year to address homelessne­ss within a period of 20 years.

CREBA’s monthly meeting serves as a forum for industry stakeholde­rs and government officials to express their views and initiative­s on issues affecting the real estate and housing industry.
