-

Rubio-Juco, Sapphire Jubilarians - HS ‘72 led by Dolly Gabriel and Angie Madrid, Ruby Jubilarians - HS ‘77 led by Belle Tiongco and Viqui Torres-del Rosario, coral jubilarians - HS ‘82 led by Cherrie Mendoza, and college jubilarians led by Maricor MendozaAkol and Ningning Layug-de Ocampo, the homecoming was marked by rousing class performances.

Everyone who attended agreed that this is one of the most well-attended and well- organized homecomings ever.

The day started with a thanksgiving mass presided by Fr. Kit Hernandez SDB, the brother of one of the golden jubilarians, followed by reports of Dr. Jesusa Marco and Daisy Villasis- Montesa, the presidents of College of the Holy Spirit Manila and CHS Alumnae Foundation, respectively.

The afternoon program kicked off with the upbeat entry of all the jubilarian classes dancing.

The golden jubilarians gave a stirring rendition of “Here We Are,” an original composition of class ‘67’s Socorro de Castro-Landsberg, which reminisces the wonderful growing up years in the school and expresses the gratitude to the Alma Mater.

Each jubilarian class then performed their special numbers with gusto to the delight of other alumnae, nuns, family and friends.

Dr. Elma Abad- Pelsang, performed her winning Argentine Tango dance number in a US dance competition.

A highlight of the afternoon’s program was guest performers Ding Mercado and CHS alumna Louis Reyes of the New Minstrels.

As the finale, the golden jubilarians took a sentimental journey, singing their graduation song “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” which even made the audience teary-eyed.

Yes, the 2017 homecoming was a successful event to be long remembered by the alumnae as one big spirited reunion of soul sisters.
