Everything you need to know about eyebrow microblading

Ladies, we all k n ow how much t ime doing our eyebrows can take in the morning. Many of us spend 15 minutes to half an hour just to get those brows looking sharp and natural. We all dream of waking up in the morning with perfect eyebrows, but the fear of marker- drawn eyebrows always overrules the desire of tattooed makeup. But what if I told you that doesn’t need to be a fear any longer? Eyebrow microblading is a relatively new semipermanent makeup technique that has been generating waves in the world of beauty. The main reason is because instead of looking like giant caterpillars glued above your eyes, they are hand-drawn, tattoos done in strokes created to look like natural hair, giving you fuller and fleeker eyebrows. If you are interested in eyebrow microblading, here are a few things that your should know before you take the next step.

• Microblading is a form of tattooing. Unlike regular tattoos that are drawn on by machine, the tool used is a special microblading pen that draws on individual strokes one by one. This allows better control and more attention to detail because the artist has more precision.

• Know the process. Eyebrow microblading is a very meticulous process that can take up to two hours. The first hour is for drawing out your desired shape with a removable pencil. This is the longest and most important step because this ultimately creates the outline for the eyebrows you want, so take your time.

After choosing your desired shape, a topical numbing cream and liquid anesthetic is applied to minimize discomfort then the inking of each hair stroke begins. This is pretty much a two-step process, but right after the procedure, the client will walk out with naturallooking eyebrows that will last one to three years! If it seems worth it, trust me when I say it absolutely is.

• There’s a bit of downtime involved. Right after the procedure, your brows may look a bit dark, but over time the color will fade by over 30 to 40 percent. Freshly bladed brows need to be kept away from moisture; during the first week a lot of people experience redness and itchiness. Try to avoid exercise and washing your face. It is recommended to have a follow-up appointment for touching up after a month. The healing process differs for each person, but it generally shouldn’t take more than 20 to 30 days.

• It is an investment. Microblading isn’t cheap. It can go from P40,000 to P50,000. There are places that give lower prices, but you always have to be careful where you go and make sure you are being treated by a professional.

Eyebrow microblading is popular mainly in America, although there are some places in the Philippines that do them. Browhaus offers their “Brow Resurrection,” where they have their own personal technique and dye to create semi-permanent brows. And if you get the promo it can cost less than P40,000.

So, is this semi-permanent procedure worth it? Think about it in this way: your eyebrows frame your entire face, so they are very important. Imagine if you don’t have to wake up in the morning spending 20 to 30 minutes on just making your eyebrows perfect. Personally I understand why there is such a rave, because having perfect eyebrows 24/7 is definitely worth it.
