PLDT targets P69-B revenue from homes, enterprises
PLDT Inc. is targeting to generate P69 billion in revenue from the home and enterprise segments this year.
PLDT chief revenue officer Eric Alberto said on the sidelines of a press conference for the launch of new business solutions yesterday the telco has set a target of P68-to P69-billion in revenue from the home and enterprise business segments for this year.
“Hopefully we can hit P70 billion. It would be difficult, but our target is P68 billion combined this year, which is a double-digit growth,” he said.
Last year, revenue from the home business reached P29.3 billion, while those generated from the enterprise segment amounted to P30.6 billion.
Amid increasing use of digital content by households as well as of solutions by firms, home and enterprise are the fastest growing segments of PLDT, accounting for 47 percent of the group’s business as of end-2016.
The two segments are expected to continue to drive growth for PLDT this year, with their share to the business seen to rise to 51 percent.
By 2019, the two segments are forecast to grow their contribution to the business to approximately 56 percent.
To support growth in the home and enterprise segments, PLDT is investing heavily to expand coverage of its fixed and wireless network currently spanning 150,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables throughout the country.
“We currently manage nine data centers strategically located throughout the country, and also operate four cable landing stations that serve as gateways for a variety of voice, data, and content traffic that runs through a global network, to and from the country,” Alberto said.
For the home business, PLDT is also encouraging consumption of digital content offerings.
On the enterprise segment, PLDT continues to offer solutions catering to the needs of small and medium, as well as large enterprises.
In line with pushing for the growth of the enterprise business, PLDT with US-based global IT company Cisco is offering next-generation business solutions.
PLDT’s initial collaboration with Cisco expands its portfolio of managed solutions by incorporating Cisco’s 4000 Series Integrated Service Routers to redefine widearea networking, and catapulting branch connectivity performance to new heights by leveraging on Meraki, Cisco’s leading line of cloud controlled wifi, routing and security solutions.
