Coffee lovers, rejoice!
The coffee company that offers the popular “Double Double” — a uniquely Canadian term for coffee served with double cream and double sugar — has made its way this side of the globe!
Excitement hit Manila recently when Tim Hortons, the iconic Canadian café and bakeshop, opened its first store in the country at the Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. It is also the coffee company’s first branch in Southeast Asia.
Well-loved for its coffee and donuts, Tim Hortons, brought to the country by TH Coffee Services Philippines Corp., introduces to Filipinos its offerings that include the famous Timbits (small doughnuts) and the Double Double, specialty hot and cold beverages, its signature blended frozen coffee called Iced Capp, and an assortment of menu items worth trying.
Tim Hortons president Elias Diaz Sese said, “With a strong economy and fast-growing, quick-service market, the Philippines is a great place to expand the Tim Hortons brand. We look forward to being part of the Manila community where guests can enjoy our one-of-a-kind coffee and fresh food.” TH Coffee Services Philippines Corp. president and CEO Enrique
Yap Jr. added, “Filipinos already have a taste for quality coffee and baked goods, making the brand a welcome addition to Manila. Tim Hortons restaurants are well-known for their fast and friendly service, which will be no different for our guests here in the Philippines.”
Tim Hortons first opened in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1964. It got its name from its co-founder Tim Horton, a National Hockey League legend. The company has established itself as part of Canada’s national identity right next to hockey and maple syrup.
