DSWD accredits new CSOs

- By RAINIER ALAN RONDA

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to undertake the accreditation of civil society organizations (CSOs) and private sector groups that can implement government-funded social welfare programs, and conduct their charitable projects and claim tax incentives.

The DSWD said they have awarded certificates of registration, licenses to operate and accreditation to seven CSOs namely, the United Coconut Planters Bank-Coconut Industry Investment Fund Foundation Inc.; Saint Paul College of Technology Camiling, Tarlac Inc.; Filipinas Institute of Translation Inc.; Escuela Taller De Filipinas Foundation Inc.; Foundation for People Development Inc.; Greenearth Heritage Founda- tion Inc., and University of Asia and the Pacific Inc.

The certificate of accreditation for CSOs, make them eligible to receive funding from partner government agencies when implementing programs.

The DSWD also issued certificates of registration to the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation Inc.; Save Palawan Seas Foundation Inc.; Edgardo S.Trota Memorial Foundation Inc.; and SCTAN Foundation Inc.

Megawide Corporate Foundation Inc. and Foundation of Our Lady of Peace Mission Inc., were issued certificates of registration and licenses to operate.

The certificates of registration and license to operate for SWADAs allow the organizations to legally implement social welfare and development programs and services for their target beneficiaries.
