GREAT STYLE INSPIRATIONS AND GREATER REVELATIONS ON MLTV SEASON PREMIERE
Now on its seventh exciting season, Modern Living TV hosts Bianca Gonzalez and Stephanie Zubiri returned last March 25 for the premiere episode that discovered the latest premier lifestyles in the Metro.
One of the biggest challenges that comes with condominium living is trying to fit everything in your space while keeping it uncluttered and functional at the same time. With a variety of furniture and lifestyle stores in the Metro, Bianca checks out Pottery Barn to learn how space-conscious condo owners can maximize their homes.
With more people moving into condominums, the demand for compact and smaller furniture has also begun to rise. Pottery Barn’s new line, “Small Spaces” is designed and engineered to be size-conscious and multi-functional while offering a design solution to your space.
According to King from Pottery Barn, multifunctional furniture is key when it comes to maximing space, he said while showing Bianca several of their items such as their highly functional swivel chair and their bunching coffee table with a storing component under it.
Apart from sharing several tips when managing and designing space effectively, King added that he feels that a good bed, a sofa and a dining table that serves various purposes are the three essential pieces that every condo owner must have.
Living in a condo unit doesn’t mean having to sacrifice style and comfort and Bianca imparts that choosing the right furniture pieces that are functional and practical will serve you in more ways than one, in the long run.
Bianca later visits the quirky headquarters of one of the most popular eyewear lines in the Philippines, Sunnies Studios. Also quite wellknown for their peachy aesthetically pleasing design that comes with their branding, Sunnies Studios ultra-collaborative and creative office radiates fun and innovation; the creativity boost helps them come up with the colorful, hip and stylishly retro eyewear that people have come to love.
Lately, Filipinos have been swooning over pictures of the Sunnies HQ on social media, garnering thousands of likes on Instagram alone. With Sunnies putting such a big emphasis on design as part of their brand, their workspace had to match as well, making sure it was functional and a space that people can get inspired and excited by.
Martine from the Sunnies team shared to Bianca that they feel it simply just isn’t an office but also a space where ideas can flow freely.
“We really encourage departments to talk to each other and we encourage people to write on the glass panels we’ve installed so you can put up your ideas and brainstorm with team members efficiently,” Martine said.
With quite a number of the current Sunnies team coming from corporate backgrounds, they shared that the energy here is so different and refreshing and everyone really just promotes flexibility and creativity above everything else.
Joining MLTV for their newest season is Filipino media personality Tim Yap, who talks about his house, art collection and his recent proposal.
After celebrating his 40th birthday last January, Yap told Stephanie that this year is all about “adulting and being a happier version of himself.”
“At the start of the year, I made it a point to set some goals for myself and this time I just wanted to live healthier and happier,” he said. “I looked around within my life and myself and realized I have a home, a partner and even great friends so what more could I ask for?”
Yap added that when he sees an opportunity or goal, he works really hard to get it, such as his commitment to maintaining a fit lifestyle. With Yap’s proposal and engagement with his boyfriend creating such a buzz on Instagram, Stephanie noted how many were really touched and admired how the story played out.
“I wasn’t expecting it to be all over social media! Actually, I had to go down on two knees [to propose] because when I initially got down on just one, I heard the fabric of my pants start to rip. I didn’t want to propose with a hole in my pants so I really had to kneel all the way,” Yap laughed.
