Top Model of the World Phl launched
As the summer heat sets in, the search for Top Model of the World Philippines (TMWP) is equally getting hotter with a first-of-its-kind collaboration. TMWP and Slimmers World International Philippines (SWIP) recently signed an agreement for the joint launch of Top Model of the World Philippines 2017 and Miss Bikini Philippines 2017. The partnership sets in motion activities in line with the launch of TMWP 2017 with Miss Bikini Philippines 2017 (MBP) in Metro Manila.
The initiative fosters cooperation among similar organizations that promote tourism, fashion, modeling and Pinay empowerment. Activities start on May 2. The grand event is scheduled on May 12 with venue to be announced soon. “The screenings have started in various cities and regions across the Philippines,” said Shyla Marquez, marketing manager of SWIP.
Meanwhile, TMWP president Caroline Coronel De Venecia also announced that the Filipino communities overseas are expected to field participants from accredited partner organizations. The search has also secured the cooperation of key pageant organizers among overseas Filipino communities in the US, Europe and Asia to select deserving delegates to represent the Philippines in international competitions.
TMWP commenced operations in 2006. Its vision is to recognize modern-day Filipinas who possess not just allure, but also intelligence, confidence and determination.
The finals night of Top Model of the World Philippines was staged in Melbourne, Australia last year under the Face Australia Promotions Management (the partner organization of TMWP in Australia). The grand winner was Natalia Lalonde representing the Filipino communities of Southern California; first runner-up was Kelly Mcilroy of the Filipino communities in Toronto; and second runner-up was Abigail Grisby from Victoria. Shannon Kelly, who represented the Filipino communities of Western Australia, won the online contest.
TMWP is sponsored by SMC, Prudential Guarantee and Assurance Corp., Robinson Land Corp., Nagaworld Resorts and Casino, Yeung Marine Products, Zest-O, Banana Leaf, Breadtalk, Kimukatsu, Ikkoryu and Fisher Mall.
