Consular Corps welcomes new ambassadors
The Consular Corps of the Philippines recently hosted a welcome dinner for new ambassadors at Chef Jessie at Rockwell in Makati City.
Spearheaded by Chilean Embassy Chargé d’Affaires
Camilo Sanhueza, who is also the dean of the Consular Corps, and Monaco Honorary Consul General and past Consular Corps dean Fortune
Ledesma , the welcome dinner was held to initiate closer ties and cooperation between members of the Consular Corps and the new resident ambassadors who recently assumed their posts in the Philippines.
The delectable cuisine prepared by renowned chef
Jessie Sincioco and the elegant interiors of the restaurant added to the convivial air during the event as the honorees and their spouses exchanged pleasantries with members of the Consular Corps (a closeknit and dedicated community of career consular officers and honorary consuls who are also active in social projects). Among the diplomat honorees were Ambassadors Sung Kim of the United States, Asad Alam Siam of Bangladesh, Johariah Wahab of Brunei, Ahmed Abdel Aziz Ezzat of Egypt, Gordon Kricke of Germany, Raszlan Bin Abdul Rashid of Malaysia, Mohamed Rida El Fassi of Morocco, Harald Fries of Sweden and Capaya Rodriguez Gonzalez of Venezuela.
Consul General Fortune Ledesma delivered a brief but warm welcome speech and thanked everyone for taking part in the special fellowship. The event was definitely a success judging from the big number of attendees that packed Chef Jessie’s restaurant at Rockwell.
