Another drug suspect was killed in a sting while another, who was recovering from a gun attack, was shot dead in his hospital bed on Tuesday.

Doctors had just removed a bullet from the body of Andres Jimenez, 47, when an unidentified man fired at him from the window of the recovery room of the Far North Luzon General Hospital at around 9 p.m.

Chief Inspector Jejet Lopit, Luna police deputy chief, said Jimenez was taken to the hospital after unidentified motorcycle-riding men fired at him in Abulug, Cagayan on Monday.

Lopit said the fatality was the top drug personality in Abulug and ranked third in Cagayan.

In Cavite, Jami Dimatingcol, 24, alias Kambal, reportedly shot it out with anti-drug operatives in Barangay Isidro Labrador 2 in Dasmariñas City at around 12:30 p.m.

Senior Superintendent Arthur Bisnar, Cavite police director, said Dimatingcol’s alleged cohorts Edwin Gonzales, Joseph Lacbayo, Angelo Faner, Allan Pacia, Danilo Bigcas and Mark Gallego were caught during a pot session.

Bisnar said the suspects are “high-value” drug pushers. They allegedly yielded sachets of shabu and marijuana, guns, ammunition as well as drug paraphernalia

Drugs in genitals

Thirty-one other suspected drug personalities were arrested in stings across the country also on Tuesday.

Among those arrested was Jonalyn Duroy, who allegedly tried to smuggle 90 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P700,000 into the Tacloban City district jail. She reportedly hid the illegal drugs in her genitals.

Jail warden Superintendent Peter Bongat said the drugs were discovered after a strip search when Duroy was observed to be acting suspiciously.

Duroy, who runs a store in front of the jail, was supposed to visit an inmate charged with theft.

“The suspect was paid to deliver the illegal drugs...It was one of our biggest recovery in the war against drugs inside the jail,” Bongat said.

Ten were arrested in San Jose del Monte City, three in Balagtas, two in Baliwag and one each in Obando, Hagonoy, Plaridel and Norzagaray in Bulacan.

Four were collared in Olongapo City; two in Floridablanca, Pampanga; three in Dagupan City and two in Sorsogon and Camarines Sur.
