Soccsksargen holds Treasures of SOX: Travel & Trade expo in Glorietta Activity Center
“Treasures of SOX: Travel & Trade Expo” is ongoing until April 7 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City. Tourism 12 regional director Nelly Dillera said trade products like homegrown pineapple, tuna, coffee, T’nalak, organic (black, brown and red) rice, muscovado, and others are among the SOCCSKSARGEN products available to shoppers at Glorietta.
Managers, LGUs and operators of tourist destinations like the ziplines in Makilala, Cotabato and in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato; paraglid- ing site and white-sand beaches in Sarangani Province; Baras Bird Sanctuary in Tacurong City; Lagbasan Cave in Sultan Kudarat Province; Asik-asik Falls, Mt. Apo and Lake Agco in Cotabato Province; the Grand Mosque in Cotabato City; Lake Holon and the Tau SOX Culture, will promote their sites for tours, and interact with Manila-based tour operators and event organizers who may wish to include these tourism destinations and event locations in their tour packages. At least 31 trade and tourism exhibitors from SOCCSKSARGEN are in Manila to do business with potential institutional buyers in the one-week travel and trade expo at Glorietta Mall.
Among the the products at the fair are Rosechie, Klowil, 3Dels, Mannas Food, Cowhed, TWS, B-LY Fish Frozen Hauz, Misayap Fisherfolk Association, Mlang Pummelo Growers Assn., Tulunan Mango Growers Assn., Mua-an Farmers Producers Coop, Kdatu Souvenirs, Southvalley, Danlag Women’s Assn., MAGIRCO/Marvelous Mountain Nature Farm, KERA/Rookie Milling, Alice Best, JNB Diversified Food Products, Kablon Farms Food Corp., and Kayamanan ni Juan.
This year’s event also focuses on farm tourism, motourism (biker’s pit stops), ecotourism and cultural tourism. Philippine Airlines will also set up a booth as part of the weeklong fair. PAL, which recently opened a flight carrying passengers and products from Cebu to General Santos and vice versa, will also have a booth at the fair.
