Jerrold Tarog’s sexually-charged psychological thriller was given a rating of R-18 by the MTRCB during its second review held the other day. The film, which contains mature themes, language and images, is suitable to audiences 18 years old and above.
The award-winning director shared the news through his Twitter page: “Bliss has been reclassified R-18. See you in cinemas on May 10. Mabuhay ang Pelikulang Pilipino!”
The executive producers of TBA, Eduardo Rocha and Fernando Ortigas, also expressed their excitement regarding the new rating.
“We are delighted that the Filipino audience can finally see Bliss in its integral version. We hope the public would continue to show the same passion and support for this film once it comes out in the cinemas. We can’t wait for everyone to experience Bliss!”
Bliss stars Iza Calzado, Ian Veneracion, TJ Trinidad, Adrienne Vergara, Michael de Mesa, Shamaine Buencamino, Audie Gemora and Stephanie Sol.
Now it can be told: Remember how thrilled (to the bone!) Kris Aquino was in her socmed brag that a “special someone” filled her room with multi-colored balloons and Ecuadorian roses (reportedly costing P500 each) last Valentine’s Day (which happened to be her 46th birthday)? The wild guess was that it was Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista who was the sender. In fact, it was racer Renan Morales (councilor in a town in Nueva Ecija) who was “it.”
Noted for being a ladies’ man (actresses romantically linked to him included Andrea del Rosario, Jeni Hernandez, Sheree and Juliana Palermo), Renan has in common with Kris’ “exes” Phillip Salvador, Joey Marquez and James Yap — they are all athletic and therefore mucho macho.

Janella was having merienda with movie writers at Via Mare (Timog Avenue, Quezon City) a few days ago when Jun Nardo got a call from Regal Matriarch Lily Monterverde who asked Jun to tell the movie press that
My Fairy Tail would be submitted as Regal’s entry in the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Upon hearing the good news, Janel- la waved her hands in victory and screamed with joy.
But unlike other screen mermaids, Janella won’t be doing any boob exposure. Let’s wait and see what her costume will be.
Besides the Regal movie, Janella and Elmo (with Joshua Garcia) are also starring in Star Cinema’s Bloody Crayons, directed by Topel Lee, and in Kung Kailangan Mo Ako, an ABSCBN teleserye.
More reasons for Janella to be jumping with joy: Super Janella, a digital concert produced last March 5 by One Music Philippines, was successful while her eponymous debut album by Star Music got a Gold Record and Platinum Awards.
The best proof that dancing is an effective therapy is none other than Regine Tolentino, a.k.a. The Zumba Queen. (During the launch for Acai in California late last year, Regine as
endorser led Zumba sessions).
Regine has been separated from Lander Vera Perez for several years now and she confessed that the annulment of their marriage will be finalized soon.
“It was dancing that healed me through difficult times,” said Regine who, with Richard Yap, will lead the fitness-concert Subok Ko Na Yan as part of the 35th-anniversary celebration of Flanax of which Regine is an endorser.
With over 1,500 participants, the event (presented by Naproxen, Flanax and RT Studios) is set for Saturday, April 8, at the PICC Forum 2 and 3, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Subok Ko Na Yan is a two-hour high-energy dance fitness party. Regine will kickstart the program along with Madelle Paltu-ob, a world-class performer and Zumba Education Specialist (ZES), plus dozens of instructors from all over the country. There will be special performances of Richard, UPeepz, the winners and finalists of Bilbiling Mandaluyong. Highlight of the event is the launching of Regine’s dance fitness album with instructional easy to follow video produced by Flanax.
