- By ARGIE C. AGUJA

In the fifth episode of the seventh season, Modern Living TV gives viewers the sunnier side of everyday life as it tackles everything from a Bohol adventure to rediscovering the wonders of essential oils and an emerging suburban community at the South — with hosts Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi and Bianca Gonzalez-Intal.

Anda: Bohol’s best-kept secret

Bohol is definitely one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines, best known for its iconic Chocolate Hills, century-old churches and the endangered tarsiers. Going beyond these attractions, Steph explores the mystical paradise and magnificent cave pools home to Anda, a mysterious seaside town three hours away from Tagbilaran.

With Mang Fortunato as guide, Steph explored the rich beauty and heritage of Lamanok island where a series of burial caves, prehistoric graffiti and a tribal shaman cave can be found. After touring Lamanok, Steph sampled tilapia chips, a local delicacy. The tour around the island calmly takes Steph back to a time of peace and quiet, with only the sound of the birds and the beauty of nature. It also presents how Boholanons remained true to the values and traditions that have been kept alive since pre-colonial times.

Inspiring elements of the perfect beach house

Still in Bohol, Steph checks out the hottest properties where a number of design fundamentals converge to make the dream vacation house or beach house a reality. First up is Amorita Resort, a popular beach property atop a limestone cliff overlooking the Bohol Sea. According to Noel, the resort manager, Amorita began as a small 38-room resort but has now expanded into 98 rooms with villas that boast of a contemporary beach design with modern French features where guests can have their own tranquil seaside retreat.

For those looking for inspiration in building their own dream beach house, Tarsier Botanika shows viewers exactly how to get that vacation feel even if away from the ocean. Steph also met French-Filipino couple Nicolas and Particia Moussempes, both interior designers who have made ‘Tarsier Botanika’ and Bohol their home.

Simple, rustic and luxurious, Amun Ini Beach Resort and Spa has created the perfect fusion that provides breathtaking views of crystal blue seas and white sands. Summed up, Steph advised those who want to build their own to find the perfect location, show off the view, design with functionality and bring in texture.

Rediscovering the powers of doTERRA’s essential oils

For centuries, essentials oils have been used by many cultures as an important part of religious ceremonies and also to help heal the sick. Vicky from doTERRA Philippines briefs Bianca on how doTERRA’s pure essential oils are revolutionizing the way families manage their health by harnessing nature’s most powerful elements. She also taught Bianca how to apply and maximize the effects of a number of aromatic essential oils. Using some application techniques, Vicky showed how doTERRA’s pure essential oils help relieve pain, manage stress, relax the body, induce sleep or even change the way we feel and think. The duo also discussed the most common health complaints among Filipinos and the corresponding essential oil or combination of oils that may help cure them.
