Ateneo to host international conference on business ethics
The Ateneo de Manila University, through the Gov. Jose B. Fernandez Jr. Ethics Center will host an international conference entitled Managing and Teaching Business Ethics: Global Trends and Challenges. Scheduled for June 4-7, at the Leong Hall of the Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Campus, the conference is the first leg of three international business ethics conferences organized by the Ateneo de Manila University in partnership with the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at the University of Santa Clara in California, USA, and the Lassalle-Haus Bad Schönbrunn Center for Spirituality, Dialogue and Responsibility near Zurich, Switzerland. The two other conferences will be held in Zurich, Switzerland in 2018 and at the Silicon Valley, California, USA in 2019.
The conference will bring together ethics professors and business leaders to discuss challenges, as well as responses and initiatives, in teaching and managing ethics and doing business ethically in this modern globalized world.
Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco Jr. and SEC Chairperson Teresita Herbosa are among the keynote speakers.
Kirk Hanson, executive director of the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics and Tobias Karcher, Director of the Lassalle-Haus Bad Schönbrunn Center for Spirituality, Dialogue and Responsibility are among the notable foreign speakers.
