Ate­neo to host in­ter­na­tional conference on busi­ness ethics

The Ate­neo de Manila Univer­sity, through the Gov. Jose B. Fer­nan­dez Jr. Ethics Cen­ter will host an in­ter­na­tional conference en­ti­tled Man­ag­ing and Teach­ing Busi­ness Ethics: Global Trends and Chal­lenges. Sched­uled for June 4-7, at the Leong Hall of the Ate­neo de Manila Univer­sity, Loy­ola Cam­pus, the conference is the first leg of three in­ter­na­tional busi­ness ethics con­fer­ences or­ga­nized by the Ate­neo de Manila Univer­sity in part­ner­ship with the Markkula Cen­ter for Ap­plied Ethics at the Univer­sity of Santa Clara in Cal­i­for­nia, USA, and the Las­salle-Haus Bad Schön­brunn Cen­ter for Spir­i­tu­al­ity, Di­a­logue and Re­spon­si­bil­ity near Zurich, Switzer­land. The two other con­fer­ences will be held in Zurich, Switzer­land in 2018 and at the Sil­i­con Val­ley, Cal­i­for­nia, USA in 2019.

The conference will bring to­gether ethics pro­fes­sors and busi­ness lead­ers to dis­cuss chal­lenges, as well as re­sponses and ini­tia­tives, in teach­ing and man­ag­ing ethics and do­ing busi­ness eth­i­cally in this modern glob­al­ized world.

Banko Sen­tral ng Pilip­inas Gover­nor Amando Te­tangco Jr. and SEC Chair­per­son Tere­sita Her­bosa are among the keynote speak­ers.

Kirk Han­son, ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of the Markkula Cen­ter for Ap­plied Ethics and To­bias Karcher, Di­rec­tor of the Las­salle-Haus Bad Schön­brunn Cen­ter for Spir­i­tu­al­ity, Di­a­logue and Re­spon­si­bil­ity are among the notable foreign speak­ers.
